We met the man from Bristol who walked to the Holy Land - David Mowat. David told us he is looking to share his experience with community groups, parishes and other groups in Bristol. We met Bristol-based artist Joannna Stamboulieh whose icons are on display as part of the Clifton Arts Club's 100th open exhibition, which is currently on at The Bristol School of Art in Queens Road. We didn't have time to broadcast everything Joanna had to tell us during this programme - so we bring you her extended interview now. We also spoke with Don Jones the Chairman of the Clifton Arts Club - and again we bring you, as a bonus, an extended interview with him with material that we couldn't fit on the radio. We played a series of readings from 'The Love Letters of Dylan Thomas' book in this week's programme - to learn a little more about the man. Top Bristol-based fadista Claudia Aurora was singing live on the radio from BCfm's Studio One. Claudia's wonderful Portuguese fado songs were supported by Javier Moreno on guitar. The Portuguese word fado could be translated as fate - the music conveys a sense of longing, particularly for a loved one.
We also had a report with Monica Connell talking about her photographic exhibition of the pictures from her book 'A Universal Passion', about Bristol singers from around the world, many of whom sing and perform music based on faith.
We've also met up with John Byrne of The La's fame - he performed at St Patrick's in Bristol. We chatted with him and enjoyed song of his concert. And here's some bonus material, we couldn't fit on the radio programme, from John's fantastic concert - we have a selection of tracks recorded live at St Patrick's.
